For this one, it was: “I really want a kitchen island.”
The catch? The existing kitchen was just 9 feet wide.
What started as a playful back-and-forth quickly became the driving force behind the entire renovation. Instead of trying to squeeze an island into a space that wasn’t designed for one, we stepped back and reimagined the layout altogether, removing two walls and connecting what had been a series of separate rooms.

The result is more than a new kitchen. It’s a completely different way of living in the home. Now the island anchors the space, the kitchen opens seamlessly to the dining area, and natural light reaches every corner. Warm oak cabinetry, handmade green tile, quartzite countertops, and unlacquered brass details bring character and warmth, but the biggest transformation is how the space feels: open, welcoming, and made for gathering.

And yes, the client got her island. 😉

Was May crazy or what? 👋🏼

A month of site visits, sourcing runs, client meetings, a long-awaited photoshoot, birthday celebrations, wedding weekends, a little travel, a lot of design, and plenty of Cooper.

This room had me at the judgy portrait.

A little plaid. A little vintage. A little moody paint. Somehow it all works.

The best spaces aren't built from matching sets. They're built from collected pieces that tell a story and make a house feel like home.

This corner is proof that pattern, texture, antiques, and personality can absolutely live together without feeling chaotic.

This is your reminder that moody paint, weird little art pieces, vintage finds, oversized lighting, and a gallery wall that maybe shouldn’t work together… usually end up being the spaces people love the most.

Photoshoot prep days = early flower mart runs, too much coffee, and me convincing myself I definitely have room for “just one more stem.” 🌿

There’s honestly nothing better than pulling together all the little layers before an interior design photoshoot. The flowers, the styling pieces, the textures… it’s the part that makes a home feel alive and tells the full story of the space.

Art sourcing will forever be one of my favorite parts of this job. Before interiors, I owned a gallery and spent years painting, collecting, and obsessing over art and honestly, I still do.

I don’t paint as much these days (even though I miss it all the time), but helping clients find the right pieces still gives me that same feeling. From thrift store finds to collector pieces, we genuinely love the hunt.

The right art makes a home feel layered, personal, and alive and sourcing it is something we’ll never get tired of 🤍

a little work, a little play, good meals, long walks, catching up with people i love, and trying to enjoy the slower moments in between. honestly one thing about owning your own business… the brain never fully clocks out, but i wouldn’t have it any other way.

Current Saturday morning status: entering my “do not disturb” era. ♨️

There’s just something about a warm cedar sauna, moody lighting, and a quiet house in the morning that feels wildly luxurious without trying too hard. This little corner of the primary bath might be one of my favorite moments in the project.

Anyway, if anyone needs me… give me 20 minutes.

Day in the life of an interior designer: 4 site visits, quick sourcing stops, material pickups, site confirmations, and approximately 700 hours in the car ✨

Not every design day is glamorous most days are coordinating construction details, checking progress on renovations, making material decisions on the fly, and trying to keep every moving part on schedule. Honestly though, these are the days that move projects forward the most. 🤍

My dad was very unsure about this tile choice at first 😂 Many a debate was had! Now he’s living for it and we’re not even done! Still a few finishing touches lef, plus the most dreamy stone that’s gonna make it a chefs kiss 😘 This project is finally starting to feel real! Stay tuned for more bathroom renovation updates!

There’s something about a shower opening onto a little secret garden that makes the whole space feel like a boutique hotel 🤍

I’ll always love a pattern-on-pattern moment, and this bathroom was such a fun challenge because everything is tonal and neutral, so the mix has to feel layered instead of busy. The herringbone zellige walls, marble mosaic floors, warm stone, and oversized window all play off each other in a really subtle way.

It’s quiet but still has a point of view, which is usually my favorite kind of space.

We FINALLY got to photograph this Studio City primary bathroom renovation 🤍 And I gotta say… I love this bathroom so much.

The original space just wasn’t doing this family any favors. Dark finishes, bulky tile, awkward layouts, and harsh lighting made the bathroom feel dated and purely functional, with none of the warmth or calm they were craving.

Now it feels layered, timeless, and like a true retreat. A total labor of love from start to finish ✨

Featuring custom white oak cabinetry, warm brass details, natural textures, and thoughtful materials throughout.

South Pasadena update:�we’re deep in construction and things are finally taking shape:
• turning a former furnace closet into a custom laundry space�• full bathroom remodel, stripped back to start fresh�• reworking the pool yard for that easy indoor-outdoor california living 🌿

It’s messy, loud, and not cute yet, but this is where the transformation really begins. Wait until you see what this becomes 👀

Pasadena home renovation update ✨

We’re officially in the messy middle of this Pasadena remodel, right in the thick of plumbing and electrical and things are finally moving. Walls are open, systems are going in, and we just added a full kitchen renovation to the scope (because we had to)

Curating my peace… Pasadena Showcase edition ✨

A little less chaos, a little more charm. Wandering room to room like “yes I’ll take this, this, and actually… my entire personality is now this wallpaper.”

If you’ve never been (or need an excuse to go), go. It’s always so fun to see what people in our industry are doing and to step inside these incredible historic homes with so much story to tell.

Also, how cute are my mom’s little dance moves ??

Yes, yes, I will have my coffee here. My cocktails, my chats, my spirals, my “just one more minute” mornings… all of it.

Because when a dining nook hits like this, you don’t just sit in it, you live in it.

This built-in moment is one of my favorites we’ve done. Layered, cozy, a little moody, a little playful. The kind of space that holds everything, the good, the messy, and the in-between.

Design should do that. Not just look good, but be lived in.

Small patterns, big impact ✨

Loving the mix of patterns here! Subtle is the name of the game, and the graphic lines in the artwork, the texture in the wall, and the layered textiles on the bed. It’s what keeps the space feeling interesting and not too perfect.

The golden velvet headboard just ties it all together. I love this bedroom so much 💙

It’s been a minute since I’ve actually shown my face on here, so I thought I’d say hi again… in full “casually leaning against a wall like I do all the time” mode 😂 (seriously… who stands like this in real life?)

Tiny room. Big artwork.

I was a full-time artist many moons ago (my early 20’s… which was yesterday, obviously), and I painted this piece during a very weird, very formative chapter of life.

Now it lives here, doing exactly what this powder bath needed: a little pop, a little oversized energy, and something that definitely starts a few conversations. Is she missing an arm? Probably? Is her hair on fire? Maybe?

Proof that the boldest moves usually come with a little history behind them, and with a goal to distract from a toilet.

Plot twist: my dad is now the biggest fan of the bathroom renovation he was side-eyeing just a few weeks ago 😂

Midway check-in on my parents bathroom and let’s just say… trust is being built (along with some very good tile decisions). There were opinions, there were discussions, there were definitely moments of “are we sure about this??” and now? He’s fully on board.

Moral of the story: sometimes you just have to let the process do its thing.

Proof that neutral is overrated.

We went full mood in this corner with wine-soaked walls, a little leopard, a little fringe, a little “should we?” turned into absolutely yes. Also shout out to @jessielaneinteriors for the custom Diddis pillow!

Because here’s the thing no one tells you: the rooms people remember aren’t the safe ones… they’re the ones that feel like something.

Moody corners are my love language.

A little drama, a little glow, a little what is that fabulous yellow thing and where do I get one? energy.

Design isn’t always about the big gestures sometimes it’s the corner that quietly steals the whole show. The lamp glow, the sculptural bowl, the glossy pop of chartreuse against that deep wine wall… and if you look closely, the squiggle hardware on the right doing its best little design cameo.

It’s giving cozy cocktail hour meets art installation.

New project 🚨

This mid-century house has very good bones, a few things we’ll rethink… and one extremely rad fireplace that is absolutely not going anywhere.

Rule #1 of renovation:
if the house already did something cool, don’t ruin it.

Stay tuned for the before era.

Just casually adding a sauna to the house like it’s no big deal.

Layered woods, a deep charcoal backdrop for a little drama, and clean-lined benches that keep it feeling architectural and intentional. Simple. Elevated. Just the right amount of mood. It’s one of those spaces that makes you feel like you’re at a boutique hotel… except it’s 12 steps from your bed. Wellness, but make it design-forward ♨️
